Thanks Larry! Our old friend Larry Hammers, whose health problems have not let him do much riding lately, is still working on Club business, i.e. working with the Parks Department to clean up the Wheelmen’s Bench Memorial and put in new flowers and plantings, part of the preparations for the Rally rides that will go by this 1897 commemoration. Larry led the effort to get a state historical marker erected for the 1997 Club Centennial. Thanks, Larry, from the entire Club.
A Festive Potluck Send Off! There will be a farewell potluck dinner to say good-bye to Don & Mary Margaret Williams on Saturday, May 29th at 6:30 at Duc and Paula Do’s house. Call Paula (893-8780) for what to bring and directions. Everyone is welcome! We will try to ease the pain of saying good-bye with lots of food.
2nd Street Bridge Problems I have been in touch with the Director of Public Works regarding the missing plates that cover the expansion joints at the middle of the 2nd Street bridge. Please use extreme caution on the bridge and be aware that the plate is missing. (We are trying to get replacements with beveled edges for safety.) Hopefully, the plates will be in place before the League Rally!
Next Club Meeting Our next general membership (that means you) meeting will be held Sunday, May 23rd at 3:00 at the Health & Harvest in the Gardiner Lane Shopping Center, Bardstown Road at Gardiner Lane. See you there!
