Remembering Ted Morrisby , VP Advocacy
The Louisville bicycling community lost a great friend and supporter with the passing of Louis Theodore “Ted” Morris on December 11, 2005. Co-owner of Highland Cycle, Ted was a fixture in Louisville cycling. Unselfish with his time, Ted was always willing to lend a hand to support cycling as well as Scouting and the Lions Club. Ted was an excellent salesman. He never pushed and was willing to take the time to explain why one bicycle might better suit your needs than another. It’s remarkable how many people became true friends with Ted after having purchased a bicycle from him. Ted always had a new joke to share too with his hearty hello. Many of you may remember when the Polar Bear Ride started at Highland Cycle. Ted was always there much earlier than anyone else, cooking chili and other treats for us to enjoy. Ted and his father Gil were early supporters of the Old Kentucky Home Tour. They were a familiar sight at many events. Ted will be missed.
