The regional Senior Games, for ages 50 and older, will take place in Louisville May 13–21, 2006. The events will be held at various venues throughout the city. The tentative date for cycling will be Sunday, May 21, at 9 AM at Shawnee Park. Come out and try out your racing skills with your fellow cyclists. These games are preliminary events for state qualifications in Lexington, to be held at the end of September 2006. Contact Clydeen Thompson, Metro Parks, 574-2646, for registration information for the regional games. A schedule of events will be listed at www.louisvilleky.gov/MetroParks. Mark your calendars! The 2007 Senior Olympics will be held in Louisville in June/July 2007. Over 15,000 athletes are expected to compete in Louisville at the Senior Olympics. Billiards and ballroom dancing will be added to the Senior Olympics in 2007. So if you can’t race, maybe you can dance. Plan to be part of this exciting event in 2007.
