Return of The Climb

I am happy to announce the return of The Climb. This was a ride that Don and Mary Margaret Williams used to ride captain each year in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

As in years past, this event will include three days of riding. On Friday, we’ll venture to Cades Cove via a 70-mile route. Saturday’s ride, during which we’ll be joined by the Smoky Mountain Wheelmen Bicycle Club, will offer three mileage options: 30, 60 and 100 miles. Both the 60- and 100-mile options provide an optional (substantial) climb. And then, sunrise on Sunday, we’ll make the 44-mile round-trip ride up to Clingman’s Dome. This ride includes almost 5000 feet of climbing in 22 miles and then back down (for 22 miles).

The headquarters will be the Ogle’s Vacation Motel. Rooms will be available for $42 per night. Make your own reservations by asking for one of the rooms reserved for the club by calling 800-634-2595.
