TARC Bike Racks

TARC reports that almost 3,000 passengers have used the bike racks mounted on its buses since launch of the Bikes-On-Board program in October 1999.

Use of the bike racks had increased steadily, and this summer there has been an average of 30 bicycle boardings each weekday. More than 180 TARC buses (at least 80 percent of the active fleet) are now equipped with bike racks so passengers can bike it for part of their trip and take TARC too.

Soon, more schedules will let customers know when and where bike rack-equipped buses are available. In the meantime, if passengers want to request a bike rack on their TARC route, they can call 561-5165.
