From the Presidentby Earl Jones
The iceman has come and gone! Based on the recent weather, global warming is alive and well! I hope you’ll get out and enjoy the rides put on by the Louisville Bicycle Club. As you’ll see from this newsletter, we are involved in advocacy, education, bicycle safety, community improvement and riding. The club’s membership is growing. Get involved! We need volunteers as ride captains, for the Old Kentucky Home Tour 2000, and many other activities. Your riding year will start smoothly and safely if you attend our bicycle maintenance classes on Thursday evenings throughout March. Thanks to A.B. Sandefur and all of the instructors for their efforts. We also seek your involvement in important planning and development activities highlighted in this issue of the Louisville Cyclist. While you are thinking about Spring, take your bike to your local cyclery for a tune-up, and take advantage of the club discount for accessories. You’ll quickly save your membership cost and then some. Come on out and join us. Visit our website, and don’t forget to phone 502-329-1848 to find out what rides we have scheduled. See you on the road! Earl
